Mrs. Mafy Latorre founded Mafy’s Nails Academy in 2006 with the mission to transform the nail education industry in New England, cultivating professional nail technicians with our comprehensive curriculum. Our team is equipped to make your professional nail education smooth, thorough, and exciting, from our administrative office to the classroom.
Staff Members
Mrs. Mafy (pronounced MAH-fee) Latorre is the founder and CEO of Mafy’s Nails Academy. She is a licensed Master Educator, Cosmetologist, and Manicurist. Mrs. Mafy always dreamed of being a teacher since she was a young girl in Peru. Soon after founding Mafy’s Nails Academy in 2006, her dream came true. Mrs. Mafy’s passion is helping her students take their first step toward achieving their dreams.
Miss Thami (pronounced Tammy) is the Director of Education at Mafy’s Nails Academy. She is a licensed Manicurist, Master Educator, and a nail expert! Miss Thami manages the development and evolution of our curriculum and has taught at Mafy’s since 2019. She is from Brazil and not only speaks Portuguese, but also English and Spanish.
Software Engineer. Bookworm. Mrs. Mafy’s husband and General Manager of the school! Mr. Ed has worked behind the scenes since 2006, managing school finances, staff, and certain customer relations. He also managed the successful transition and establishment of our new school in 2023!
As Mrs. Mafy’s second-in-command, Mr. Dan manages enrollment, advertising, finances, student relations, staff, social media, and even building this website – Mr. Dan does it all! A 2019 graduate of Boston University, he keeps the academy up-to-date and helps make students’ experiences at the school go smoothly. The success of our academy and students is his top priority!
A proud boricua and graduate of Mafy’s Nails Academy in 2014, Miss Suey joined our team of Master Educators in 2023. During the past decade, she became the successful owner and manager of two nail salons! Miss Suey is an expert in acrylics and 3D nail art, but will teach you everything you need to be successful as a professional nail tech. As our Admissions Assistant, she may also be the one to enroll you!
